My wife has been involved in two affairs. We lost our virginity to eachother and have been together a total of 17 years. She said I am her best friend, she loves me, is attracted to me and loves having sex with me. She says Im the perfect husband and she has never felt good enough for me……yet thinks she has “closed the chapter on us” and says it’s because she has never felt that we have had that “jump eachothers bones” passion. I don’t really think it’s fair to compare a 17 year relationship that started when we were young to an affair in terms of whirlwind emotions and lust. One more to add, we went to counseling when I initially had a bad feeling about her affair partner. I was told by the counselor that I was just paranoid and it was my child hood wounds. Then, when it came out I just don’t know who to trust.

I think the opportunity for a lot of this stuff and a chance to rebuild anything has long past. Hard to communicate with somebody who refuse to talk about it at all. Leaving me to deal with problems I didnt create during a time when I was severely injured and going through a lot. The failure to even show up at all is pretty unforgivable. Im literally just here for the kids... biding my time until Im healed from these 2 spine surgeries from a broken neck. I went through way too much to have to try to fix this too.

This is a great video but many of the statements are worded from the assumption that it’s always the man who cheated or sometimes it’s both at different times. For men it’s about manning up but it can be even harder for us because when a woman cheats she didn’t just open her legs. She opened her heart to some degree - most of the time.

Man I needed this guidance months ago

I went to tons of counseling over years. It was absolutely useless. I probably spent $10k on counseling because she thought it was gonna help. She just wanted someone to help her talk me into staying with her. All while she was still withholding the full truth. What can a counselor possibly say that will make anything better? There’s no need to discuss anything until the full truth is on the table. They are always hiding the worst of it. You don’t need a counselor to tell you how to feel. You need all the facts and 100% truth about what happened. Then you can make an informed decision about how you want to proceed. Use that money to get a polygraph test which btw is only about $600 in my area. Make sure you know everything in full. Then you can do what you want with that information. Affairs are horrible and if you really know the details of what they really did you will not want them back. They hide it and say they didn’t want to do it and it was terrible. I thought of you the whole time. I felt pressured to do it. The sex was terrible and he had a tiny penis. All this stuff is lies. They were having a blast with the guy, pursuing him, sending naked photos, taking showers with him and spending the night in his bed, initiating sex with him, taking it in different positions, giving him oral sex, having lots of orgasms, and then once it ran its course and she decided she didn’t want to screw him anymore she wants to come back to you. It’s disgusting.

I am Jamaican. I terminated this video because of the accent of the speaker. I believe everyone should have a voice signature that identifies their ethnicity ie Indian, Chinese, Latin American, Caribbean. Other than that it sounds like P R, or entertainment. I may listen in the future to your content, or try slowing down the speach. Right now I can't.

This is why I don’t believe staying together is wise. Grieve the loss of your obliterated marriage, process the devastation with a seasoned counselor that is a good fit, and heal yourself. Healing takes a long time, but it is critical to your ability to move forward to someone new without dragging this devastation into your new, healthy relationship. No matter how you think you love your betrayer, the betrayer set off the bomb that destroyed you. They don’t get a do-over. They need help, but not through you. Not with you. That’s like the uncle or cousin who molested your daughter being told she has to stay around him every day so he can make amends, and your daughter and uncle/cousin could or should try to build a new relationship together. That’s sick. Right? IF, and it’s a humongous IF, after you’ve been apart for a few years and have done the massive amount of work needed for your own individual recoveries, you come together again and slowly, slowly take time to build a new relationship with guided professional help, MAYBE then you can remarry and have a happy, safe, passionate and HEALTHY marriage this time because of all you’ve learned, and how you’ve healed and grown. But I’ve seen thousands of couples say the betrayed spouse triggers, floods, and spirals for decades down the road! If staying together after all the recovery work together still has this periodic misery and heartache for both of you, it doesn’t sound like a healthy plan.
